Cryptocurrency investment products reversed a new inflow trend, and saw a significant outflow as Bitcoin and ether prices fell last week.
Global Crypto Exchange-Traded products (ETP) have finished a two-week inflow that brought in $2.3 billion last week after seeing a $1.43 billion spill, Coinshares reported Monday.
According to Coingecko, Ether (Eth) fell below $4,100 on Tuesday (ETH) came as Bitcoin (BTC) soaked $112,000 from over $116,000 in August, from $116,000 in August, and soaked $112,000.
Last week’s losses marked the second-largest leak on record for Spot Ether Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFS), according to Sosovalue.
The biggest leak since March
According to James Butterfill, Coinshares’ research director, the $1.4 billion outflow from the Crypto fund was its biggest loss since March 2025.
Butterfil said the sale was attributed to “increasingly biased” investors’ sentiment towards US monetary policy, and pessimism about the Federal Reserve stance fueled a $2 billion outflow early in the week.
“However, sentiment changed later in the week following Jerome Powell’s speech at the Jackson Hole Symposium, which was interpreted as more fools than expected, causing an influx of $594 million,” he added.
Shift in tones reflected in Ethereum
Batafil said the tone changes were strongly reflected in the ether, which caused a sharp mid-week recovery and a $440 million spill.
Bitcoin ETP has grown significantly, totaling over $1 billion.
Analysts highlighted a significant shift in investors’ feelings about Bitcoin and ether, taking into account the influx of the month when Bitcoin experienced a $1 billion outflow versus a $2.5 billion inflow of ether.

“Ethereum annual inflows account for 26% of managed assets, compared to just 11% of Bitcoin,” Batafil added.
In the meantime, the Altcoin flows were mixed, seeing XRP (XRP) saw $25 million inflows, Solana (SOL) recorded $12 million in profits, while SUI (SUI) and Toncoin (Ton) saw $13 million and $1.5 million inflows, respectively.
