The landmark ruling concludes an extensive trial that exposed corruption trajectories involving famous individuals in Gujarat.

The crime has been solved

The incident began with the invitation of Shailesh Bhatt, a businessman and cryptocurrency trader in Surat.

According to the report, an individual pretending to be from India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) invited him to a meeting in Gandhinagar.

Instead, he was accused of from the gas station. A team of police officers using official government vehicles took the bat to the farmhouse.

The accused seized 200 Bitcoins, valued at about Rs 12 trillion at that time, demanding a ransom of 32 crores.

The investigation revealed that Bhat had previously stole 150 crore worth of Bitcoin from another Surat resident named Dawar Mawani. Learning this, the accused (including Narin Kotadiya) were cooperated to steal the bat.

Unmasking the conspirator

Bhat began the investigation when he filed a formal complaint with the Indian Criminal Investigation Bureau (CID).

As the investigation deepened, the CID arrested 10 police officers, including Anant Patel and Surat-based lawyer Ketan Patel.

Their questioning soon revealed the names of Jagdish Patel and Kotadiya. Kotadiya went into hiding and a warrant that could not be released on bail was issued before he was eventually arrested.

The scope of the plot expanded further with the involvement of Sunil Nair, a real CBI inspector. Nia reportedly demanded a bribe from the bat and threatened to begin an investigation into him.

The court’s decision ultimately had a major step in mind against corruption and criminal conduct, including police officers, politicians and cryptocurrency.
