Bitmain, the world’s leading manufacturer of Bitcoin mining applications inherent in integrated circuits (ASICs), is reportedly on the verge of opening its first US-based manufacturing plant.
Bitmain is set to open its first US-based ASIC manufacturing facility in the coming months, according to a Bloomberg report on Tuesday. The company also plans to open new headquarters in Texas or Florida by the end of the third quarter of 2025.
Bitmain’s global business chief Irene Gao told Bloomberg that chip production is expected to begin early 2026, and full-scale production is expected by the end of the year. She said the move is intended to accelerate delivery and repair times for US-based customers.
Gao said the US calls Bitcoin domination a “unique opportunity” push and Bitmain plans to hire 250 local workers in the first phase of the rollout. These roles include training in manufacturing and facility maintenance.
Bitmain did not immediately respond to Cointelegraph’s request for comment.

Bitmain is a good companion
The news reports in mid-June that Bitmaine, Canaan and Microboot, which collectively produce the majority of the world’s Bitcoin Mining ASICS, are bringing production to the US in response to the heavy mutual tariffs imposed on China and the favorable crypto policy pivots by the Trump administration.
Together, the three companies manage almost the entire Bitcoin ASIC hardware market. A study published in April at the University of Cambridge found that Bitmain accounted for 82% of the world’s Bitcoin ASIC production, while Microbt and Canaan produce 15% and 2% respectively.

Solutions to US regulatory issues
Production in the US is also a potential solution to Bitmain’s past problems with US authorities. In late November 2024, the US Customs and Border Protection Agency stopped delivering thousands of bitmain ASICs.
The attack follows an October investigation by Chinese chip designer Xiamen Sophgo about alleged business ties with US-approved company Huawei. Chip designers also support Bitmain’s ASIC business, which has led US authorities to take action against it. Authorities began releasing the hardware in March.
