Memecoiners declared a huge golden statue of President Donald Trump holding Bitcoin outside the Capitol as part of the pump on Wednesday, an ode to President Crypto-Supporting.
The statue is located just opposite Union Square in Washington, DC, at the National Mall, which leads to Capitol Hill, about a mile from the White House.
The Stunt website said it was a tribute to Trump’s “unshakable commitment to moving forward the fiscal future through Bitcoin and decentralized technology.”
The statue’s announcement coincided with a reduction in the Federal Reserve cut rates at 25 basis points for the first time this year. This is usually considered bullish for dangerous assets like Crypto, as it reduces the cost of borrowing money.
Trump embraced the code in the presidential run and led the industry to bankroll his campaign on a massive scale. The president and his family have deepened their economic benefits for crypto during their tenure, raising concerns of conflict of interest as Trump has negative regulatory oversight in the sector.
Organizers advertise Trump’s custody stance
Hichem Zaghdoudi, one of the statue’s organizers, told ABC 7News DC, “It is designed to spark conversations about the future of government-issued currency, and is a symbol of the intersection of modern politics and financial innovation.”
“This is a statement. It shows everyone that without the president we would not have had a mass adoption of all the bitcoin, cryptocurrency and all the bitcoin buying Bitcoin,” Zaghdoudi told DC News.
“It shows that it is the future and this is our gratitude to the President,” he added.
However, some argue that Bitcoin (BTC) has been in a bull market as regulatory approvals and the final launch of Spot Bitcoin Exchange Trade Funds has been pushed the crypto higher as it has become readily available to institutional investors since it began with the Biden administration at least late 2023.
Statues made of bubbles tied to pump.fun memecoin
The stunt organizers were mostly anonymous and created Memecoin in Pump.fun.
One organizer said in a live stream Tuesday that the statue was made of “very hard foam” to make it lighter and more manageable.
Posting to the organizer’s X account shows a machine that carves the statue’s head and multiple people carrying the statue in place.

Organizers said the statue was 12 feet tall (3.6 meters) tall and Trump wanted “walking over there.”
National Mall famous for protesting statues
The Golden Trump statue is the third statue to appear at the National Mall this year in relation to Trump, but the first statue to support the president.

In June, an 8-foot (2.4 meters) tall statue called “The Dictators were approved” appeared on the strip, with a giant golden hand giving thumbs and crushing the Statue of Liberty crown. It had been protesting Trump’s highly criticized military parade a few days ago.
Later that same month, a golden television adorned with bald eagles appeared, showing a video of Trump dancing with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in a controversial U-turn that his administration would release more of the so-called Epstein Files.
