Elon Musk has emerged as Crypto’s most influential figure, surpassing US President Donald Trump. The top of the cryptocurrency impact also includes current and former Congress people. In particular, only one non-US politician and one woman were on this influential list.
The analysis performed by the Apex protocol used data-driven metrics to identify and rank the most influential public figures in Crypto today.
Crypto’s most influential voice today
Earlier this month, Trading Platform Apex Protocol released a detailed analysis identifying Crypto’s most influential voice. Their methodology combined estimated crypto holdings, net worth and social media reach.
“What this ranking really shows is that the influence of crypto is not just who has the biggest wallet. It’s who listens… such a mix makes cryptospace so unique now. It’s not just technology and funding, but politics, communication and culture all wrapped in one.”
The final score is determined by X and the total followers of Instagram, and each number reflects the ability to shape public opinion and focus attention on the crypto space.
1. Elon Musk
Tesla’s CEO and Dogecoin enthusiast surpassed President Trump as Crypto’s most influential political figure. Much of the 221.2 million musk’s massive social media frequently shared cryptographic views, sharing his estimated $2 billion in crypto holdings, including corporate investments, pushing him to the top with all measures.
2. Donald Trump
The sitting US president has secured a second position. He heads 142.7 million followers at X and owns the third-highest Crypto portfolio, with over $1.3 million. A report released by the Democracy Advocates Fund earlier this year found that the president’s crypto assets account for 37% of his total wealth.
3. Naive Bukere
Salvador President Naive Buquere is the only non-US politician in the top 10. He holds an estimated $8.4 million in crypto assets, which, despite initially making Bitcoin a fiat currency, later reversed under pressure from the International Finance Fund. He is frequently involved with 17.6 million followers on social media about Crypto.
4. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The current Secretary of Health and Human Services holds $750,000 worth of cryptocurrency in his portfolio. He follows a widespread social media accounts of nearly 11 million total.
Kennedy frequently calls Bitcoin the “currency of freedom.” He believes it can provide middle-class Americans with hedges against inflation and act as a relief for the devaluation of the US dollar.
5. Ted Cruz
The current US Senator in Texas and his former lawyer in his hometown holds around $32,500 in cryptocurrency. He maintains a vital social media presence with 9.1 million followers across X and Instagram.
Cruz strongly advocates Texas as a crypto hub for bitcoin mining and employment, innovation and growth. Unlike central bank digital currencies, he emphasizes important protections for government control and economic freedom and defends Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
6. JdVance
Closely following Senator Cruz, Vice President JD Vance emerged as a key influencer in cryptocurrency figure, securing sixth place. His influence is drawn from his role in civil servants and the substantial social media reach of his 6.2 million followers. His estimated Crypto Holdings, at $375,000, puts him ahead of most politicians.
Vance believes the US should strategically embrace Bitcoin, particularly given China’s ban on cryptocurrency trading and mining. He suggests that Beijing’s Bitcoin opposition should motivate the US to adopt it.
The Vice President also praises the US government for the establishment of strategic Bitcoin reserves and consistently encourages the crypto community to continue to operate politically.
7. Madison Cowthorne
Madison Cowthorne, a 29-year-old former Republican US representative from North Carolina, holds $116,500 in digital assets.
As the youngest public figure on this list, he maintains a significant social media presence with over 1.18 million followers. Identifying as a constitutional conservative, he shows his appeal in the political voice of a new generation of Crypto.
Cowthorne generally favors cryptography. He previously promoted “Let’s Go Brandon” (LGB) coins and expressed bullish feelings such as “This is going to the moon.” However, his crypto deal sparked controversy.
In December 2022, the House Ethics Committee determined that he inappropriately promoted tokens that he made private investments and received “inappropriate gifts” through favorable terms.
He also failed to submit a timely transaction report. While the insider trading allegations were investigated, the committee did not conclude that it was profiting from the private information.
8. Cynthia Ramis
Wyoming Sen. Cynthia Ramis is a leading advocate for Congressional cryptocurrency, often referred to as the “queen of crypto,” and is the only woman who makes the top ten on this list.
She holds an estimated $230,000 in crypto reserves and directs social media with over 390,000 people involved. Lummis is currently chairing the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Digital Assets.
In March 2025, she reintroduced the Bitcoin Act to establish a strategic Bitcoin Reserve in the United States. Ramis also co-hosted the Genius Act, which President Trump recently signed into law.
She supports the Clarity Act, a bill that, if enacted, establishes a regulatory market structure for digital assets.
9. Francis Suarez
Miami mayor and well-known attorney Frances Suarez ranks second with $10,000 worth of cryptocurrency and over 200,000 followers across social media.
Despite being at the bottom of the net worth scale, the Republican mayor has attracted a great public attention for his strong advocacy and ambitious cryptocurrency initiatives.
Suarez actively pursued his vision to make Miami the “World’s Bitcoin capital,” promoting economic growth and attracting technological talent. His initiatives include accepting Bitcoin pay and enabling crypto tax payments.
He also played a key role in launching Miamicoin and actively adopted the crypto business. Despite market volatility, he sees Bitcoin as a “free currency” and an important tool for economic diversification.
10. Pat Tomey
American businessman and former president of Pennsylvania’s Pat Toomey will round out the top 10 with $8,000 worth of crypto and almost 187,000 followers on social media.
As a former ranking member of the Senate Banking Committee, Toomey defended the need for a defined regulatory framework that distinguishes cryptographic products from securities.
Toomey is a key figure in Stablecoin’s law and has introduced the 2022 Stablecoin Trust Act to ensure proper support and transparency.
Honorable mention: Michael Collins and Michael McCall
Georgia’s US representative Michael Collins holds an estimated $8,000 in cryptocurrency. He only has 130,000 followers on social media, but his substantial $18.75 million net worth influences the broader crypto conversation, putting him just outside the top 10.
Michael McCall, the US representative for Texas and current chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, has concluded a list of Crypto’s influential politicians.
He owns the third highest net worth in the rankings with an estimated $200 million. McCaul’s reported cryptographic retention is tied to that of Michael Collins.
